Why can't Sera book when Open Dental is down?
In Integrated mode Sera will not claim a booking Open Dental never accepted.
Quick answer
In Integrated mode Open Dental is your master record, so Sera will not create an appointment on its own and tell a caller it is booked. The request is kept under Requests so nothing is lost, and you can commit it once the connection recovers.
While the connection is unhealthy:
- Sera does not report success to the caller.
- The intent is preserved as a request rather than being lost.
- Your connection status reflects the problem, and failures are retried automatically.
Once the connection recovers, work the requests queue to commit anything that was held.
